Amy Porterfield is a powerful social media strategist and co-author of Facebook Marketing All in One for Dummies. She's also built an impressive business based on becoming an expert in a very popular niche and in this podcast she shares her tips for using social media to make your small business thrive.
Amy's entrepreneurial spirit stems back to her father who instilled the message that being your own boss was the only path to freedom. Even though he loved his job as a fireman, he explained that freedom was waking up excited to work for yourself on work that you love and create.
And so Amy ventured out to start her own business after gaining experience working for several bosses. One of these was the Tony Robins, a world famous Peak Performance Coach and one of my personal heroes.
Amy worked directly with Tony for over 6 years in the field of content development for his personal development business. She learned how to turn Tony's inspirational ideas into audio and visual products.
This was a stepping stone of learning behind the scenes of how to develop product content, marketing campaigns, and helping with product launches of $10 million. She took that knowledge to launch her own business a few years back which came about through strategic networking.
After attending BlogWorld she was introduced and offered to co-author Facebook Marketing All in One for Dummies. She now focuses on coaching for small businesses and entrepreneurs on how to use Facebook for online marketing to leverage leads into sales.

How To Travel And Live Virtually For Free While Running Multiple Businesses with Hannah Vallance and Chris Alford [Podcast]
Love. Play. Work. That's what this location independent couple live for while traveling the world and running their online businesses. They also help people like you reach location independency through their training products and programs, so that your dream lifestyle becomes a reality.
Hannah Vallance and Chris Alford are a lovely couple from the UK that used to work in the 9-5 jobs. They dreaded Sunday evenings -- that desperate feeling of wanting the weekend to last a little longer ,and that awful feeling of overwhelm from thinking about the upcoming week's worth of work.
Together as a married team, they set about spending their spare time focusing on building their online business and giving up 9-5 to travel the world, with many trial and errors along the way.
Four years later, with growth in all four of their online businesses, and traveling to 15 countries, many people asked how they managed to build their lives and businesses while traveling. And so their website Love Play Work was born to show people how to manage online businesses, but also to teach how to keep a healthy marriage while building a business together.
Hannah and Chris also know, that even though they could escape the 9-5 lifestyle, they still have the responsibility of paying their home mortgage. So how are they able to leave their home base?
They have become Home Exchange experts, allowing them to leave their home in exchange for accommodation elsewhere in other countries, reducing much of their travel expense, and giving them wonderful opportunities to experience a home away from home.
This is something I think is particularly cool to do, especially if you're a home owner and wanting more flexibility in your life.
